i`ve got an lg 2280p player and a 32" hitachi tv which is just a year old and the dvd year and half old. Just hacked the dvd to play muti region and brought fast and furious had no trouble at all. So order my next film thinking there be no problem planet of the apes, when the film is playing the widesceen ratio changes for a few seconds, (the black lines get bigger) then returns back to normal. Looked on this site for info and have seen people talking about ntsc and pal dont think i can change this on my player is this my problem? or would you say it`s the tv.If its the player what would your recomondation for a replacment be. Want some thing that will play eveything (rce) region 1 thanks for your help and sorry to go on a bit but is doing my head in

There have been similar problems like this on `Moulin Rouge` and `Dogma` with certain players, it seems to have something to do with special features that you access during the movie itself (like the white rabbit popping up for a few seconds in `The Matrix`) for the brief period the graphic is up (or not, if you haven`t selected it) the anamorphic seems to dry up and then clicks back on again once the graphic disapears. Don`t have a clue how you would go about stopping it though. Does `Planet of the Apes` have these in-movie features?

I have this problem with Holy Grail SE on my Cyberhome 512 - I think they have a follow the killer rabbit feature, so that may tie in with Mike`s comment.

thanks for that. It has got features in the film like viewing mode it takes you behind the scenes and shows you the making of scene your watching. It also has nuon and only new players with this feature compaitabiliy will play. looks like a new player is in order
