Page 1 of Watchmen Director`s Cut Blu Ray

I`m going to buy this and just want confirmation before I buy, I know it`s only available from America now so just been looking at Movietyme and it`s £22 and they confirm it is region free.

Playusa have it for £17.99 though, but say it will only work on North American players. Im assuming that this may be wrong and just a standard disclaimer?

Don`t know if anyone is better nowadays for region 1 stuff, haven`t had anything in ages.

Edit- Amazon.com have it for $21.49, with postage of $6.48, Xe.com gets that in at around £16.90.

Customs limit is £18 still I assume, plus excludes delivery charges, so if they do get arsey with slightly different exchange rates, I`m better off with Amazon anyway?

Any difference on speed in deliveries also, ie Do Playusa.com ship from UK or Guernsey or wherever it is based?

Got mine from play. It is region free on my UK PS3. Took 3 days to arrive :)

Blu-ray uses letters for regions, not numbers, so it would be region A, not 1. Most retailers just never adapted their sites. The PlayUSA Watchmen will be the Canadian edition, but it`s identical to the US release as far as I`m aware. It`s region free so no problems with importing. It will probably be quicker than Amazon as well.

is there not a UK blu ray directors cut version then?

Nope, we got the theatrical cut, presumably because Paramount is distributing over here and they don`t hold the rights to the DC. We miss out on the `Maximum Movie Mode` thing as well. Still, the BD looks the nuts.

My understanding, though, is that even though we`ve missed out on the DC, there`s an Ultimate Edition coming at some point which makes the film even longer. Don`t have much in terms of details on this though...

Paramount haven`t confirmed what we`re getting (I was told the DC), but it may well be the five disc set with the director`s cut with the Tales of the Black Freighter woven in, the motion comics, Under the Hood, plus some new extras including a Snyder/Gibbons commentary.

Yeah what Id seen was the Ultimate Edition includes just the directors cut with Tales From The Black Freighter woven in.

I`m kind of second guessing myself now, Ive seen Tales already and although it`s well done, not sure how "essential" it is in the movie version due to the way the main story has been streamlined.

Cheers for all the info, I thought they weren`t called Region 1 anymore but didn`t know what else it would be called but thought people would know what I meant.

I`ll probably order from Play and get the directors cut I think. Sure it can be sold for about £10/12 if I change my mind at later point as most people won`t be added importing (just need to make sure I do it before it`s released in this country ;)
