army of darkness - bootleg edition

Iain M (Competent) posted this on Monday, 22nd October 2001, 19:15

has anyone else recieved their copy of this yet?

the picture quality is BIZZARE - every other line is f**ked up somehow - not quite sure what`s up with it. looks like a single layer disc too

but it`s bad enough i`m about to email anchor and ask them what`s up with it.
so could someone clear up for me - the normal director`s cut disc has the 15mins extra but a different ending? or what?

Explain please what you mean ??? is the picture fuzzy/grainy or just poor quality ?? this seems strange as it`s supposed to be a new anamorphic copy of the film ... + is the sound ok?? ..... how come you have your copy now it only got released today (23,10,01) ? I hope mines ok, i`ve ordered mine from Canada + dont wanna go through the hassles of sending it back if it`s faulty....

that`s what i thought might be the excuse

the effect is something like this:

a block that should show as:

comes out like:

and stuff like that - an odd double image effect - the tops and tails of the cut scenes are perfect tho (ie. the bits of original footage)

Hey there

The Bootleg edition is just a re-release of the Directors Cut they produced last year.

Believe me, I have this version, and the picture quality is terrible. TERRIBLE. Below VHS in many scenes. Some scenes look ok, but not nearly as good as the THX theractrial DVD. But some scenes (mostly the new footage) are so bad, they look like a fuzzy home movie from the 70s.

If your looking for a good audio visual experience, buy the theatrical DVD.......if your a true Evil Dead fan, who must have to full version then buy it.....but, you have been warned.

Although, the commentary is GREAT
