What`s the biggest (ie. number of discs) DVD boxset out there...?

Hulk Smash! (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 26th August 2006, 02:34

I was looking through my lovely new "Ultimate James Bond" Attache Case the other day... and suddenly thought - is this the biggest DVD boxset available? (40 discs)

I can`t think of any stand-alone set that has more discs....

(PS. I don`t count these series that collect all the (already available) season boxsets together in one big box because.... well, that`s cheating!)

Ingmar Bergman Box Set 30 discs
Carry On Box Set 30 discs
I actually saw a 128 box set somewhere due for release but can`t find it now so the above will have to suffice.

The complete Buffy collection is 39 discs but that is easily dwarfed by the 63 disc complete X-Files collection.

There is a rare complete Criterion Collection of all their titles, so that will be at the very least 300 discs, probably a lot more.

How could it be a complete collection if they`re still releasing films? Odd.

I suppose if Paramount released all the Star Trek series, movies, and the animated series in one mammoth box set, it would house 204 discs.

That would be an awesome christmas present for someone.

....ahh - but they don`t count - they`re just collecting together all the previous-released boxsets...

Hang on, haven`t all the Bond films been issued as a box set before?

Well yes, but these are brand new double-disc releases in new packaging - rather than "already available" boxsets just collected together (ie. Buffy, X-Files, Trek etc.).
