Mission Impossible 3 better than the first two installments??
My wife dragged me to the flicks the other month to watch MI:3. I have watched the first two and hate them with a passion but amazingly & surprisingly I really enjoyed the third one!! Is this the first time in cinematic history that the third part of a trilogy is better than the original and sequel?? I reckon so...... :p

If Buck Rogers floated in space for 500 years how come his new world is full of crappy 70`s special effects???

Wow, and this from a man who dosen`t like POTC! lol, sorry i just find that funny.
I thought this was easily the worst out of the franchise.
1 was the best film, but it had the worst action. 7/10
2 had the best action, but the worst plot. 7/10
3 was a compremise of both, but not as good as either. 6/10

Personally, I love the first one and "dig" the second (despite the fact that it`s cheesy crap, but damn it`s entertaining).
I`ve only seen the third part twice, but I really like it. Much better than the second, but too different to the original to really make a fair comparison. It helps that I really like Alias the TV show, given that Abrams basically made a $150m 2 hour version of that. The plot is tight, the action great and the music truly superb.
I think it`s good that all 3 are different, because different people will get different things.

"LOTR: Return Of The King" is regarded by many to be the best one....
And similarly, "Star Wars: ROTS" is seen by many as the best prequel (really clutching at straws now though, lol...)

I think M:I 3 is the best of the 3 if you take them as individual films rather than a trilogy: I hated the first one, the second was an improvement but John Woo got a bit carried away with the slow-mo action sequences and the third had the best of all with cracking action and a decent Alias-like storyline.
I`d try not to think of them as a trilogy (LOTR, Matrix, Godfather etc) but more as stand alone action movies as it`s possible to watch M:I 3 without having seen either of its predecessors.

All i was saying was that a man that dosent like one brainless action flick, then likes another (considerably weeker) one.
I don`t think it is the general feeling. But if it is, hey, good for you! Give yourself a pat on the back 8)

That`s only because all us right minded people saw the Heading and fell off our chair laughing.
I`ve never walked out of the cinema midway through a film but would`ve done with MI:3, if we weren`t there with a wee lad we were taking to see it.
Oh, and he fell asleep half way through !! (:¦
Mission Impossible? Well, the first action scene was `Mission Fairly Easy`, the second one just about lived up to the billing but the third, crowning glory of the missions was so damned impossible to film, they thought it best to skip the whole thing and just have a nice chase and fight scene instead.
What a bunch of kaka.

I wouldn`t say it was that bad. It just wasn`t good at all. I think unlike Woo`s film it was relying more on the action & it just didn`t deliver.
At least the action in MI2 was very good compared to the plot.
