Baraka - heard of it......?

Fecker (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 2nd October 2001, 10:54

This is my fave film ever. It`s a 70mm visuals film man.
It`s a tour of the wonders of the world with a big feck off movie camera, and took 4 years to make.
Lots of time lapse stuff, sunrise over Pyramids, Grand Canyon, Whirling dervishes, that sort of thing...... truly awesome.
Get it from movietyme for £14.

This is a must have in any collection and is my favourite film.
REAL film - not hollywood pish......

Well, it`s not a film as such, is it?

I agree with your sentiment though, it`s amazing.......almost like having The Landscape Channel or something... even my old non-anamorphic copy looks pretty good.

:-)

Was this on BBC2 about 3 years back?

Don`t think it`s been on telly. It`s just been released on R2 as well. Play have it.
I also got Chronos which is also by Ron Fricke - not as good, just buildings - no people, but the helicopter ride through the Grand Canyon nearly makes up for it...

I`ve heard of it, sounds as if it`s along the same lines of "Koyanisquatsi", if anyone else has heard of that...
