Is the DTS on the Seven 2 disk set 5.1 as my DVD player (Samsung 709) shows DTS 2CH when I skip through the audio tracks using the Audio button?

Yes, it is 5.1. Maybe your Samsung has a problem reading or displaying it, but you should hear the difference from each channel, specially on street scenes, like when Brad Pitt is running for Mr. John Doe.

My LG3350 does the same but it`s definately full 5.1 DTS.
Not sure wether that means it`s a common problem as regards players or a fault on the disc.

You are selecting the DTS ES discrete option on the disc audio menu, yes ?

May be worth double checking that you each have setup your respective players to output DTS by way of `bitstream` if you`re hooked up to a digital amp.
