What`s so special about this movie? Almost every DVD site I go to has it featured on the main page and it`s been mentioned on these boards a few times too. What`s all the fuss about?

The film to own. Mine should be with me tomorrow, if Amazon pull their fingers out...

the reason this film is so `special` is because (unlike most martial arts movies) it had depth, atmoshpere, character and emotion......

sounds a bit like a PS2 advert, only in this case it delivers... :P

it is special because it is a film for the head, the heart and the eyes. how many films coming out of hollywood (and britain as well) can claim to have even one third of what this film has to offer?

strange.. i`d say i`m really into movies.. ok well not nearly as much as some of you movie buffs but i have nearly always seen at least 2 of the movies on at the cinema, but i`d never even heard of this movie until about a week ago?

l just watched it for 1st time, pretty good film! Lots of new things l never saw in a movie before! Great fighting scenes!

btw, l ordered mine from Amazon on Saturday midnight, and it arrived monday morning costing a total of £12.07! (see Bargain thread for a reduction for Amazon)

Very disappointed with this film. The fight scenes are some of the best i have seen, found the plot boring. I was really looking forward to watching this film, never mind there`s plenty more on the way.

Cut out desert sequence and give Mr Fat two guns it`ll be damn good movie.

I must admit, I was looking forward to watching this movie. That despite the warning that Ang Lee`s "American Civil War" "epic" Ride with the Devil had about 5 minutes of the American Civil War in it.

A very strange movie but overall, what a disappointment. The vaunted fight scenes lasted all of 5 minutes and were too far intersperced with drawn out boring sequences. Maybe I was drawn in by the hype and expected too much? Conversely, I expected a dire movie from Pearl Harbor (and indeed it was) but enjoyed it nonetheless - fully aware that I was going to be watching absolute pap.

Funny how the mind works, eh?
