X-Files Gift Box

John496 (Competent) posted this on Monday, 4th April 2005, 15:22

I just received this morning my X-Files dvd box. This was a free gift if you collected all 9 series and sent back the coupons to prove that you had done so.

The only thing is ALL 9 SERIES wont fit in this flimsy cardboard box with its cheap crappy plastic lid. You can only fit 8 in it.

THANKS FOX.

That`s clever of them... perhaps they`ve cottoned on to the fact not many people will be buying season 9. ;) I`m only buying it to complete collection! LOL!

What was the cut off date for the box? Or is it first come first served? I`m only just getting the boxsets.

I have some pennies at the moment and I`m considering getting 8 and 9 from Play due to cheapness, just to have the complete set. Will most likely remain wrapped though.

I don`t think I have all the slips(?) that had the tokens on - if there were tokens on the fold-out digipak sets at all. I don`t think I`m bothered about the box anyway, especially if poor quality.

What will M-Lock look like next to the fold-outs? Are they the same width etc?

The M-Lock boxes are about half the size of the digipack cases - this is a photo of the season 1 digipack next to seasons 2-6 M-Lock boxes.

Hmm. Oh well at least they won`t take up too much room.

Thanks for helpful photo.

Choices have cheapness too. :D I had confirmation this morning that 1-5 had been sent, so will wait until they`re in my hands before I order the last 4... I`m so bad, but mheh! I`ve wanted X-Files on DVD since they began coming out... and i`m actually a bit happier that they`re slightly smaller the M-locks, cause I am tight on space. :D

THEN I will try to get the box to put them all in, if possible!?!

I`ve ordered season 7 from Choices Direct but am not sure about 8-9 as I was so disappointed by them when they were on TV. As I have the digipack season 1, I am not in a rush to get all 9 seasons in M-Lock boxes just for a cardboard case!

I didn`t mind series 8.. but 9, I was very disappointed. When it ended, I did a silent protest. ;) I didn`t watch an x-files for MONTHS!
But I will get all the sets, because I only have the episodes taped from TV or the single releases they used to do.

I was poor when video boxsets came out. ;)

I know, I`m back to dithering about getting them now - that money would buy lots of other stuff. I`m still bitter about what they did to the characters in 8 and 9 (Scully *really* stupid *all* the time, Mulder a total bastard when he was in it, never warmed to Dogface or Moronica).

Season 7 has some of my favourite episodes in it (Goldberg Variation and Je Souhaite), it should have ended then (though about 30 seconds before it did - without the tacked-on bombshell).
