Columbo series 2?

Kezz (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 19th March 2005, 12:46

Anyone know if they`re planning releasing series 2 of Columbo on DVD? I just got series 1 for £17.49, not bad for a 6 disc set.

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...

And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

PLAY are doing series 1 for £15.99.Is it really 6 discs for just 11 hours of programming.I had assumed the 75 minute episodes would be 2 per disc.
Series 2 has just been released on R1 so there will no doubt be a R2 release. All 45 episodes(all 7 seasons) of the original 70`s version is out on dvd in Japan, but they are quite pricey to import. They are in English with removeable subtitles.
The "new" modern(1989-present)series do not seem to be likely to be released for some time,if ever.
I have most of the new ones on dvd from Sky Movies who seem to be the only ones showing them at the moment, but at least they are uncut

And Universal appear to take little care with print quality of any of their stuff.Broadcast versions of original Columbo are often superior to the dvd versions.
I have a complete run of Night Gallery from US tv and they are all remastered-their dvd collection of season 1 pales in comparison. So if you get a chance to record off tv,as long as its uncut, skip the dvd`s

Does anybody know the date??

I`m sure the DVD quality can`t be that bad...(pheilings)???

DVDSoon worked out at around £18 for Columbo... just slightly more expensive (R1)
