Page 1 of UNDER RATED!
DVDs & Films Forum
What film do you think is under rated, and you think everyones life would be better by seeing it?
Let the people know!
CLERKS - is really one of the funniest films made but who actually saw it?
Last Boy Scout and Long Kiss Goodnight are both also great action films.
Anyone?
Good topic Mr Breaky Pants. Well done, feel proud.
Ooooh I would have to say:
City Of The Lost Children (Ok its French, but everyone should see it)
Manhunter (too many people just dont know about it)
Tetsuo: The Iron Man (I would be surprised if anyone else has seen this)
And thats just off the top of my head...........
Delicatessan - absolutely hysterical French movie - seen by none, mimicked by beer companies in their ads....
Agree with Clerks, Manhunter and even Last Boy Scout, but Tetsuo left me cold.
Films that I feel deserve more recognition:
True Romance (charming film)
Donnie Brasco (Fantastic performances)
Hard Eight (again, great acting)
Full Metal Jacket (simply brilliant)
Any Given Sunday (everyone should see this)
Heat (don`t know many people who`ve seen it)
Leon (as above)
Blade (p***es on the X-Men film)
Natural Born Killers (being banned didn`t help it)
American History X (Ed Norton is superb)
Must admit American History X is outstanding - never heard of it until it came on Sky..
Was in Asda some time later and saw it on DVD for £8.99 - couldn`t believe my eyes! What a bargain!
Prince of Egypt is better than most Disney animation being made!

Tetsuo and Tetsuo 2:Body Hammer both excellent. Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters; Les Apprentis; Delicatessen and City of Lost Children; Orlando; Bottle Rocket; Big Night; Princess Mononoke; The Way of the Gun; The Straight Story; Goodye Pork Pie and others too numerous to mention. Not underrated as such, just not widely seen.
Pecker. Probably John Waters` finest moment, and has a great commentary track on DVD (which is currently a tenner in the HMV sale).
I`ve so far failed to find any of my friends who`ve even seen it.
