this just came into my local vid shop. id heard some very good stuff about it, but didnt really know much about it, i think i saw bits of the trailer last year.
what a fantastic film. very difficult subject matter, obviously. but even know having watched it there are still many question marks hanging over it, especially as it didnt tie up the loose ends so to speak, alot was down to you and what you thought.
goint to watch the 2 disk tomorrow as it has another 2 hours of footage which i read somewhere someone said will take you off the fence.
Just watched this and the father was in my opinion guilty.
Did you watch the 2nd disc as i`ve only seen the first?
yep i watched all the second disk, around 2 hours, in one go. as most of the stuff is their own footage it felt like bits from the film, so more than just your usual extras. fascinating stuff, and quite unique especially as you are watching them, and not say some reinactment like you get in some documentaries.
the father did become far more silent or withdrawn, as things progressed. but for me the most interesting element was how the police handled the whole thing, and the judge saying she beleived they were guilty even though it hadnt gone to trial, unbeleivable.
just saw it again today with some friends, and it was just as good. but the second disk is well worth seeing, especially at some screenings where some of those featured in the film, lawyers police etc. start having some forum type thing which was odd having just seen them on the film.
