Region 2 has been discontinued, it is available on eBay but prices are likely to be over £25.

They released a Region 1 2 disc Anniversary Edition last year, which has been remastered in Dolby 5.1 & DTS (No difference between them.)

I got the region 1 limited edition gift box set, including the original 1932 edition, 8 lobby cards and a money clip. The box set is absolutely fantastic, never have I felt such a fantastic box. It feels and looks like leather :) To be honest, it`s my most treasured DVD!

If the R2 of such a famous film has been discontinued and an R1 SE recently released, it is safe for one to assume that soon that SE - or a similar, dressed to kill version - will be unleashed to R2 consumers as well.

Riks got a thing about R1`s in that his main player is his Xbox. I`m sure Play have a Region X disc for £17.99 though. Expensive but it means you dont have to wait for SE to become available in the UK. Take Prince of Thieves for example which has been available in the US for months and we dont get a sniff of it till next week.

Got the R1 Scarface and got no complaints whatsover.

I think the SE is an all-round excellent package, 8 / 10, let down a little by the extras. The transfer is very good and the packaging excellent.

I am yet to watch the 1932 edition, but will do soon.

I have been using the money clip though ;)

Can`t believe this.

In my Box Set I got eight collectible lobby cards. Total I paid for the box set was £26.

This site are selling the eight lobby cards seperately for a whopping £125.

What is going on there?

Unfortunately DVD Region X is unavailable for the Xbox as Microsoft won`t grant the manufacturers a license - they say it is illegal/wrong to crack the region.

I also prefer R2 on the whole anyway, I have a second player upstairs that can do multiregion, yet UK discs just are better IMO - usually better artwork, no NTSC judder etc.
