is the r1 any good? ie is it the best one to get
They`re all the same. But if you order the R1 now then you`ll get it before most people get their R2.
I thought about it, but I`m going with the R2.

How will you get the R1 first when it is out 4 days later in the US than over here?
RE: matrix reloaded r1
Because it`s now shipping from Movietyme...

Like Handsome said, it`s already shipping. You usually get R1 DVDs about 2 weeks (roughly) before the actual street date. But when you order the R2 (say from Play or Blackstar) you`ll probably only get it a few days early. They seem much more strict with release dates in this country than the US. Just look at the fiasco created when The Two Towers went on sale 4 days early at certain supermarkets ;)

Depends on whether you hate either NTSC or PAL speed-up. I`m getting the region one, simply because I`ve heard the region two soundtrack and it`s pitched too high.
Do all players give jerky ntsc pictures or is it just mine? If it was`nt for that I`d probably buy most of my dvd`s on region 1!
Mine doesn`t (Sony 725). I now almost always buy R1 versions as I seem to be sensitive to pitch and the PAL speed up.
Well untill I get a new player (which won`t be for long long time) I find region 1 nearly unwatchable. Which is a shame because picture wise I don`t see that big a difference.
I mostly buy region 1 because I can get them before region 2. I get no judder with my player, and to be truthful I`ve never noticed the pitch increase in PAL. If this bothers you that much then the film you`re watching can`t be that good to loose your concentration so easily! Its also one of those things that you would never notice until someone points it out.
