Watched Signs last night, such a disappointment.

I was really looking forward to watching this DVD and I could not believe how bad the story line was. In my opinion M.Night started on a high with the Sixth Sense and has gone downhill ever since and reached rock bottom with this film.

I have to disagree. The Sixth Sense was a fairly average film with a brilliant ending. Unbreakable was GENIUS, and definitely his best film. Signs, while better than Sixth Sense, is not as good as Unberakable. Although Signs has a s*** ending, its a very tense film to watch, IMHO.

Of course, if you don`t get absorbed into the world he creates, then its a lost cause.

I do agree with chewie here. I thought signs was a very tense film. I dont think ive ever seen such a movie that has so much tension before the finale. Its thrilling and gripping. The ending was a bit silly and some more thought should have been put into it. But on the whole, this doesnt ruin the movie that much.
Sadly like he says on the documentary, he doesnt currently have any ideas for a new movie at the moment so we might have to wait some time before his next. One thing is for sure is that this movie completes his hattrick in movie making. I know he has made another movie also a while ago but that was more of a comedy and so it was sort of a whole new ball game. In this game, 3 movies, 3 huge successes.

I cannot belive that an actor such as Mel Gibson, who could give such a stunning and brilliant performance in BRAVEHEART would act in such a hamfisted, google-eyed way, the notso-special effects of the alien was also way below par.

If you have not seen SIGNS then my sign for you would be `head for the door quick` rather than put yourself through this torture.

Cheers, Colin mac

Got to agree with telboy, I too looked forward to watching it but was very disappointed. As for Sixth Sense......it`s got to be one of my favourite films.

I really enjoyed this film and thought it built up so much tension to the end that they could never really finish it without the viewer being a bit dissapointed.

Admittedly the alien was poor but this film was not about special effects. If you went in for that then you were bound to be dissapointed. This movie is a tense thriller that makes you wonder about stuff. Mel Gibson isnt at his best but is pretty good. He fitted the image of the Father Hess perfectly. Joaquin also does well but its no doubt that the kids steal the show. Rory Culkin definetly has a big future and will no doubt surpass his brothers. I agree the tension builds up so much that there was bound to be some dissapointment.
