CHEAPEST R1 DVD`S AND IMPORT DUTY PROBLEMS
Can anybody recommend good and cheap sites to buy R1 DVD`s from?
Also, has anybody had any problems with customs when ordering over the set limit. I was about to buy Futurama box set at £29.99 from CDWOW when a pop-up window warned me that the amount was over the customs limit and a charge may have to be paid.

The following have customs avoidance methods:
DVD Soon (Canadian)
DVD Boxoffice (Canadian)
DV-Depot (Canadian)
Movietyme (US & Canadian)
DVD Mode (Canadian)
If you order a dvd over £18 from outside the UK (and EU) it can get caught by customs, it it does tax will be 3.5% Import Duty and 17.5% VAT and carrier admin fee (£3.95 for Royal Mail, £10 for DHL, £15 for Parcel Farce)
If you are after Season 1 of Futurama then it`s on offer at http://www.argos-entertainment.co.uk/ for £12.99 at the moment.

CD-Wow have now put in place a system to avoid customs charges!
RE: CHEAPEST R1 DVD`S AND IMPORT DUTY PROBLEMS
Note that play.com do their delivery from the Channel Islands, which are outside the EU and so purchases can get hit for these charges, but at least they`re Royal Mail delivery.
Import duty and VAT are also applied to the P&P, and if it doesn`t go through Royal Mail the charges really add up.
I got the extended version of Fellowship of the Ring locally, rather than take a chance on being hit with charges. I have been caught out a couple of times, on non-DVD stuff, and I`m reluctant to face the hassle again.
As for a "system to avoid customs charges"... If Customs and Excise catch on, things can get unpleasant.
