Terminator DVD rot problem and address where to return disc
MGM have issued a contact telephone no. 0800-3898-384.
The nice lady will tell you to send your DVD in original packaging in a suitable padded envelope package to
FREEPOST
DVD RETURN
(Yes! it`s a very short address so I called twice and that is the address to send the discs to.)
Make sure you enclose your name and address so they can send your new disc back to you.
RE: Terminator DVD rot problem and address where to return disc
Has any1 tried it yet?? There are reports on other sites that the post office doesn`t accept them.
Does anyone know if the system of returns works outside the UK even though the discs are UK discs? I bought mine at Uni in england so I may have to wait until the nest year starts to get returns.
Cheers
RE: Terminator DVD rot problem and address where to return disc
Basically I`m going to wait until I have heard that someone has actually got their discs back before I even try to send off mine as this development about the Post Office not accepting them is to be frank very worrying. You could send off two £20+ dvd sets and never see them again so I think the best bet is to wait a while. Both my sets (Terminator and Silence of the Lambs) have got the cloudy discs but they are still working at the moment, still want to change them though as they may stop working in the future and as far as I`m concerned they are already sub-standard.
RE: Terminator DVD rot problem and address where to return disc
I tried on Thursday to send the Terminator SE discs back using the address provided. They refused to stamp the certificate of posting as they said the address was incomplete. If they get lost without a c.o.p., there`s no proof you ever posted them. I decided to wait to see what other people find before I send them back.
RE: Terminator DVD rot problem and address where to return disc
I took my DVD to the postoffice on Friday, and at first they said the return address seemed funny. After a few phone calls from the post office, they managed to speak to a lady who deals with Freepost addresses at the post office. She confirmed that the address is correct and this is why.
The DVD does not go back to MGM first, it goes to a post office sorting building. The post office then attach another address which then goes back to MGM. MGM do not want to give out their address.
Also, I paid sixty odd pence for recorded delivery.
Hope this info helps.

Whats causing this rot? Acid in the cardboard?
RE: Terminator DVD rot problem and address where to return disc
The best policy is to get recorded delivery.
At least that way you know that if it goes astray you can get something
back.
I was puzzled also by the very short address but I have been told by my local post office that the address will mean that the discs will go to a sorting area and then be bulk-despatched to MGM.
I strongly recommend that you place plenty of stickers etc. detailing where the new discs should be returned too when MGM send out the new discs.
