Page 1 of NEW YORK DOCUMENTARY PBS 7 DVD SET

Does anyone know where I can get the above dvd set in the UK. It is a region 1 release originally broadcast on PBS tv in America.
I`m tempted to order direct from amazon.com but with a price of $120 and a big box set would probably be hammered by UK Customs :-(

I got this only last week!!

Put off by Amazon and others rather high price, I found a place called www.playcentric.com, who were doing it for $88 ! Never used them before, but they got an OK review on epinions.com

It took a week from the day I ordered it to me receiving it here in London.

Postage was $2.99 !!!! Excellent value.

They also posted it from Ontario, and said the value of the contents was below 35 Canadian Dollars, so no hassle from the Customs.

Hope everything goes as smoothly for you as it did for me. The only slightly negative reviews about Playcentric were some older reviews of their site saying some orders took a while to get processed. However, a Week from ordering to being on my desk at work was pretty damn good by me, so I can`t fault them there. The $2.99 postage is staggering for a box set of this size, and the icing on the cake was the listed value (I didn`t ask for this, they just did it!).
Anyway, let me know how it goes. Ive watched 2 discs so far (2 hrs per disc!), and its a cracking series. Sometimes the soundtrack music played over the `talking heads` is a bit over the top (almost makes some bits a bit too "schmaltzy"), but as far as a documentary series goes, you can`t really fault it.

The box set came on Saturday, so 1 week in total from ordering. As you said, $2.99 p&p is amazing - plus no customs charges on a set of this size!
Now looking forward to sitting down and doing some serious watching.

I`m about to order 5 or 6 DVDs from DVD Soon, I know I`m going to get stung by customs but can anyone give me a rough estimate on how much it would be?

Floyd, why not order seperately - it costs exactly the same and each is sent as soon as it is available.
I made the mistake of rordering blocks of 8 DVDs from DVDSOON only to realise that they would all have to be in stock for them to be sent!
They mark DVDs quite cheap on the packaging and have assured me that there will be no problems with Sopranos boxset.
They are a great company and so much cheaper than any one else!

Thanks sportsmimic I took your advice and ordered them seperately. I didn`t know they sent them off in bulk and not when they are released, bloody hell I`d of been waiting till December when BBTTF finally came out.

It took a while to finally order them as BT cut me off, and then site timed out on me a few times. But I finally ordered them.

I bought Back to the Future box set, Blade II, Star Trek II: Directors Edition, Reservior Dogs (Mr Pink edition) (Steve Buchemi was cool in it), Pulp Fiction Collectors Edition, Jackie Brown Collectors Edition, E.T. Ulitmate Gift Set, and Tron 20th Aniversary Edition.

Just went back to site Floyd, and they have increased all of the prices. Only small increases but when you order alot it adds up! I`ve ordered over 70! I just wish they would add some of the winter blockbusters like spiderman to their preorders!

I`m glad I`m not the only DVD shopping addict here, theres just so many I want!!!
