Infinifilm - is it any good?

FuzzyBoy (Competent) posted this on Monday, 1st July 2002, 18:21

Looking to get Rush Hour 2.

R4 is £12.36 from Ezy.

R1 is £15.99 from Play - this is an Infinifilm release from New Line Home Video.
From what I can ascertain it has documentaries as extras and you can choose to view extracts from these at certain plot points during a viewing of the main feature - similar to Follow theWhite Rabbit on Matrix.
I think that`s right - correct me if I`m wrong.

Does anyone have this dvd or others including Infinifilm and are they worth the extra couple of quid?

Thanx,

FB

yep, they are definitely worth it - I have the R1 Rush Hour 2 dvd and it`s excellent (the film could be better though), tons of extras as well as hidden stuff like 2 LOTR trailers in anamorphic widescreen and 5.1 (this will give you an idea of what the quality of the upcoming LOTR dvds will be like)... get it.

You can get Rush Hour 2 R2 for only £9.99 in most sales at present including HMV.
The infinifilm features are very good if you like branching out when watching the film to the extras.

However most if not all of these are available on the UK R2 disk from EiV from the special features menu. Also because of the space taken up to run the infinifilm feature some are not as good as other versions worldwide
eg 15 minutes has DTS in UK
and Thirteen Days has DTS in Aus as extras are on 2nd disk

Therefore its your choice a nice gimmick or saving money

If you want a comprehensive review of Infinifilm, check out the excellent review by... er... me!

I reviewed Thirteen Days a while ago and have to rate it as the best disk in my collection. I haven`t seen any other Infinifilm titles, but this one I loved. Well worth the extra wonga!

Cheers,

Giles.
