eh? HiFi shops perhaps?

DO NOT go into Dixons or Currys!

Go to Richer Sounds or Sevenoaks. One of the Cheapest and Best of Atacama Nexus 6 stands at £50 per pair. You can fill it up with dry sand or steel chips as well for extra stability. You probably think £50 is a lot for a pair of stands, trust me, it isn`t. The next good pair I think think of cost £100 but they look like a oil rig and they go up to £1000+ for some stands.

Oh yes and why not?

I am also pretty damn sure that Atacama Nexus 6 stands are EVER SO SLIGHTLY too large for the JBL esc333 speakers mentioned. Probably a bit of a stupid idea paying £50 for stands for a system that probably cost £149.99.

I believe ikea are doing some stands at £9.99 a pair that would suit your needs nicely. Likewise, Index.

how can speakers stands be too big? They`re all the same size (they are design that way). If they aren`t, they aren`t HiFi speakers stands. Which means they sound s***e.

If you don`t believe me, go to Dixons and get those toothpicks for £9.99. Just don`t compliant when they fall off.

Have you even seen the size of the satellite speakers for the esc333?

Doubt it if you are recommending Atacama stands. Therefore your comments are a non entity.

And for your benefit, Dixons, currys et al don`t stock speaker stands anymore............

Very unhelpful.

I got mine from IKEA (of all places) £12.00 a pair. nice solid concrete base (ok a bit industrial, but so heavy they never fall over. crome tubes (hollow for wires).
comes in 2 different sizes.
worth a look anyway.

Speaker stands are NOT all the same size! My stands for my front speakers are 20cm tall, rears are 70cm tall, some available are 100cm tall-where do you get the idea that they are all the same size? Doh!

xxxman has the right idea, I think, for these small satellite speakers. Alternative would be some sort of wall bracket, but for small sats, these tend to have to be designed for the particular speaker, unless you can create something out of various bits in your shed ;o)
You should try and get rear speakers a couple feet above your head, and don`t point them directly at you - fire across the room. There have been several threads about this subject in the hardware forum - where this thread belongs too, really....

I KNOW speakers stands comes in different heights, by same size I meant the base for which the speakers site on. That is design to suit all standmounter, from little ones like that JBL to B&W 602 (which I have). and I know the JBL are £150, but I would put a Mission 700 on there and that`s only £60. I know it is SMALL but putting it on the proper stands will have the greatest SONIC benefits. It might not look PRETTY (I know that`s what you want) but it`ll sound BETTER.
