There`s every possibility that they only have about 3 in the whole contry for that price, so I`ll ring up the mail order dept first as they have the largest stock. If they don`t have them then ring up you local or nearest branch and if they have 1 RESERVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am tempted to get one myself now.............will give them a ring tomorrow. and does anyone know the hack to make this player Multi region, and this player also plays progressive scan, £300 is cheap and I am almost sure this is a genuine deal, since I have bought loads of stuff from them at a great price.

I`m lookin for a dvd player and i was looking to spend around £199, but if this dvd player is one of the best around and for only £299, why not.

Can u give the number to reserve a player or a link to a page where it can be purchased from.

Just rang them up and It`s a misprint, they are still £1000 so no luck there.

It`s multiregion out of the box (well, you enter a remote hack). No problems with Macrovision or RCE either. You can read the review on this site here:

I bought mine from Audio-T (Enfield) and paid £900 just over a year ago, so £1000 seems a bit much. Mind you, if this comes with progressive scan as standard now, then this is the price you pay for keeping up-to-date.

A fine player :-)

I was actually plannign on getting one even though I have a perfectly good DVD player already. But you acn always try your luck and see if the guy in the store knew about the misprint and you might get one for £300.

i`m afraid that i can`t see any point in paying £900 to £1000 for just a dvd player, you might as well buy a dvd-r for that money?

You can`t see the point, but have you seen and heard the quality of a mid to high end player over a player costing sub £200-300?

Apart from playing back DVD it does play CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, VCD, SVCD, comes with a three year warranty as standard, can be upgraded for future enhancements such as DVD-Audio or progressive scan, is multiregion/RCE free out of the box, has no problems recording a very good image of an R2 film to VHS, has broadcast quality components for optimal sound and video and has separate signal pathways for these components so that the picture and sound is free of interference in the slightest. Not to mention good build quality.

Demoing such a piece of kit with a high quality amp, speakers and cabling makes a difference. Shall I go on? At the end of the day, you pay your money and make your choice and you deserve to get what you pay for.

:-)
