Good except for the fact that it`s an Internet TV (i.e. takes up your phoneline instead using, say, cable) and that you can get the TV on it`s own for £250 at Argos.

I don`t mean to appear rude but who would buy a t.v. from Aldi??

If the price is right why not buy anything from there ?

I can see your point but I`d prefer to buy from a specialist retailer.

Most places price match anyway, at least with a specialist retailer they know what they`re selling (well, I hope they do).

I can`t imagine your average person in Aldi knowing much about how a dvd player etc should work or be set-up.

But there again, I may just be a snob??

I dont know about you fella`s but Id rather search the internet for the spec on the product I want, Get all the info needed and then go out a buy a cheapy, And there aint nothing wrong with that. When I see the word "Specialist" that usually equates to lots of ££££££££ which many people havent got ;)

I`d rather buy from Aldi than Currys or Comet. The sales personnel know just as much (i.e. nothing) about the products, and at least Aldi don`t pressure you to buy extended warranties.

Tesco`s are not "specialists" but where else can you get a decent multiregion macro free DVD player for less then a ton ???

I asked the salesperson in Currys about Macrovision and Multiregion and his reply "NOT HEARD OF THEM IS IT A NEW THING?"

Far better to look on this site and read up on a model you like and get it from the cheapest place possible.

Fair point.

There is something about Aldi I don`t like, in fact I dislike all those dirt-cheap supermarkets.

Plus you never get what I`d call branded goods at these places.

Give me a Sony, Toshiba, Pioneer etc etc anytime. It`s not a case of having money to burn, it`s just that you know what you`re getting with these brands.

You get a really nice piece of kit rather than some budget model that no-one`s even heard of.

Saw an ad in a paper..
Aldi are selling PCs for Christmas. Aaaagh!

Its bad enough getting PC World staff to answer semi technical questions!

Do you sell memory expansion chips?
No, but we do crinkle cut, thin cut, Oven and microwave chips!

Terrible joke I know ;)
