hiya

Ive been to staples today to get my kids a new printer for their homework, and to my delight there was a stack of Apollo P-2100U
colour inkjet printers for £24.95 it is complete with a usb cable power supply a colour cartridge and a black cartridge.
It may not be the best printer in the world but for the kids homework it is ideal, and what do you want for less than £25

Samantha

oh yea i forgot to mention they are powered by Hewlett-Packard.

That is a bargain - I just paid £20 for an ink cartridge for my crappy old Canon inkjet :-(

Nice one. I don`t need a printer but it`s good to know this stuff is around particularly as it`s based on HP technology. Don`t pay £20 for a cartridge! I use http://www.choicestationery.net/ they have compatibles for as little as a couple of quid each. As long as you`re not doing professional colour matching work they are perfect. No problems at all with them.

Trouble is that ther compatible cartridges aren`t too easy to find for HP printers - I think this is because the print head is in the cartridge. Epson are the king when it comes to compatibles.
One reason the printers are often nearly as cheap as buying a new colout and BW cartridge is that the supplied cartridges are of smaller capacity.
Still a good bargain, though!

TOYSRUS at Bolton where also doing an Apollo Printer I think it may have been less than £25.00. I remember it was ultra cheap but I already have an Epson Printer.

Would not get one of these printers unless youve got alot of cash to replace the cartridges £20 black £28 colour, stick to an Epson you can get 2xcolour and 2xblack for £10 (thats what i pay anyway!), you will save in the long run by paying a bit more at the start.

Most printer companys sell printers at a loss to start with coz they know you have to buy replacement cartridges.

Even if you use the refill ink on a HP you can only do it 3 times because of the printer head.

hiya

Makes no odds really im sure the kids will of broken it before then as it is in there room with their pc and im not buying them a expensive one to wreck,as i said it is for their homework and my youngest no doubt will be printing colour in pictures on it so for less than £25 keeps them of my back and my printer.

Who told you that, Deanos75?? I`ve been filling my HP820cxi`s cartidges for over 3 years (must have been filled 6 times each!) and the print quality is as good as when I first bought the printer! And it costs me approx £1.50 to fill them ,as opposed to £25 to buy a new one!!
