since when did a price search site charge for membership?

as far as i can remember http://www.fixtureferrets.co.uk was a free site.
i stumbled upon it again today and saw it was charging £5.20 per year to see bargains which saved £1 or more.
are there any alternative sites out there for your groceries and the like??

I did exactly the same thing on the 14th. There`s TrollyDolly and mysupermarket - but that`s all I know.

I`ve tried it but doesn`t seem to show up much in the way of groceries :p
It is the site I use for dvds though
My DVD collection
