Adobe Premiere Elements 2 and Photoshop Elements 4 £39.99 in Staples

Hi all, long time reader of this forum but this is my first post - please be gentle with me!

Title says it all really. Spotted this in Bedford Interchange Retail Park, and also Stevenage, which has £59.99 on the shelf but scans at £39.99. RRP for this is £99.99.

The best part is that if you have a previous version of either, or a competitor`s product, you can claim £20 back from Adobe. I also got a £5 staples voucher too! :D

Sounds like a good spot. How do you claim the £20 back, and do you know what they class as a competitors product? I have Roxio Creator Suite which is Roxios equivalent, and have thought about getting Photoshop Elements for a while now as a lot of the guys on a photography site I go on use it, and say good things. Just wondering if they`ll class that as a competitors product, and how you go about proving you have it to claim the cashback?

Cheers :)

WARNING: I tried to install Premiere Elements 2 on my AMD Athlon XP and it would not install. You need one of the following:

Intel® Pentium® 4, M, D, or Extreme Edition, or AMD Opteron or Athlon 64 (SSE2 support required)

Yep, just read similar to that when I`ve been reading some reviews just now. Should be fine on my PC though as it`s a P4 3Ghz with 1.5GB of ram. Roxio Creator Suite needs similar high specs, it`s mainly for the video editing functions which are power hungry.

Price is good, same package is £97 on Amazon. I just want to know if I`ll be able to claim the £20 back, would make it well worth trying as I`ve put off getting it up to now as I wasn`t sure if there was a lot of similarity to Roxio Creator, and didn`t want to waste money doubling up. With the £20 back, and the £5 Staples voucher that would make it deffo worth a try for £15.

Ok this is the link mentioned on the pack:
http://www.adobe.com/special/rebate.html#q3

Does not seem to mention having to own a competitive or previous version to qualify for the rebate.

and cheers to pavslovspooch for spotting the typo - have corrected it

Thanks Linebacker and umern, got a copy today, as you say, no mention of having to prove what other software you use, it just asks you which ones on the form. The flap on the box was a bit confusing as it was saying the qualifying products were all Adobe ones, but the leaflet in the box doesn`t mention qualifying. All you do if cut off the proof of purchase flap, and send it with the form, and a copy of yoru receipt within 6 weeks of purchase.

It was marked up as £39.99 in our store, right next to Photoshop Elements 4 on it`s own for £60 and Premiere 2 for £30...bet they sell loads individually...lol :)

I asked them to get me a copy out, and when they checked they had none in stock. But I asked them t ocheck the other two stores in our area (Teesside), and one had one copy in stock, so they kept it for me. We were passing near there today anyway as we were going out for the day, so wasn`t even a special trip to get it.

This bargain sections too good, cost me nearly £200 this week...lol :)

Thanks to original poster. :)

Fair cop guys - I had only read the outside of the box which says `Must submit fully completed rebate form, copy of sales receipt, Proof Of Purchase (Tab #1), and name of previously licenced version of qualifying Adobe or competitive software product......`

I expected more validation than the rebate form has - it just asks which software you currently use to edit videos and photos. Mine is in the post now. Fingers crossed!

Glad some have been found, I am still surprised at the price. Bedford Interchange Staples will apparrently have a delivery on Wednesday...
