Reminder: last day for the Dell laptop bargains

by phone only you can get the Inspiron 1300
1.50GHz 256MB 40GB 14.1 inch widescreen 299
but consider upgrading the screen to 15.4 for around £40 (inc vat) and the battery for longer life for around £12
The direct line is 0870 353 3197 but is a premium number
Alternatively give them a ring on 01344860456 and ask for sales

Or you can order online or by phone the Inspiron 1300
1.50GHz 512MB 60GB 15.4inch WXGA (N02135a) for £397
when ordering online you could go through a cashback site and get it cheaper e.g. you can get cash back from http://www.quidco.com/ (4.5%) or rpoints (2.5%)

If you call they will probably try to sell you extras IMO the 15.4 screen and longer life battery is worth it but the memory upgrade is a rip off

Internet access - definately yes. Games? I don`t know, the biggest sticking point is graphics which AFAIK you can`t upgrade on a laptop. My guess is that older, less demanding games or games without a lot of fast moving graphics (eg strategy Vs shoot-em-up games) will probably be okay. Check the requirements e.g. does it require DirectX and if so what version. The other thing is that most buget laptops do not have dedecated video memory ie they take up some of the general memory so if the one you order has 256Mb you will benefit greatly from upgrading to 512Mb or more for all but the least demanding of tasks.

Looks like it has gone.

The N02135a is now £448 after you drop service to 90 day C&R.

The N02136 will give same spec (with 1.6GHz Celeron) for £419

Any better offers anyone? Who knows what next week will bring?

The £299 laptop was never available online. you have to phone up Dell, and say you want the Inspiron 1300 laptop in the newspaper for £299

The N02135a deal for £397 Including VAT & Shipping was available online. Originally reported by pavlovspooch. It is still there but the deal has changed and the price is up.

Good job really as I was getting very tempted.
