Page 1 of Free Samsung DVDM105 in Sheffield

Martin Dawes in Sheffield Centre (next to Lush, opposite WH Smiths) is giving away a free Samsung DVDM105 to anyone who signs up for a 12 month 1-2-1 contract. My girlfriend and I have both taken the offer; we`re planning to keep one player and sell the other to pay the phone charges.

Incidentally, does anyone know where I can read a decent review of the 105? Or can anyone tell me anything interesting about it? I`ve been trawling the forum for hacks, and I can`t wait to get to grips with me new gadget when I comes (there is a 14 day wait).

sounds too good to be true. which one to one tariff do you have to sign up for?? do you have to pay for the phone aswell??

You do have to sign up to the Precept 200 tariff for at least one month of your annual contract, but you can change it back to a cheaper tariff after that, and there are free phones available as well as ones you have to pay for. Alternatively, if you don`t want to sign up for Precept, there is a charge of £30 for the DVD player if you opt for a cheaper tariff.

The only catch is that I`m still waiting for my player to turn up - apparently the rush to snap up this offer has meant that they have no 105s in stock at the moment - Samsung are due to deliver a batch next week.

I`ll report back if I experience any problems, but I have a receipt from Martin Dawes promising me a DVD player as soon as they have them back in stock.

Incidentally, does anyone know of a macrovision hack for the 105?

Blockbuster were doing a deal like this too... I took out a contract. Anyway and the player is good, Phone is good, But the network is s***e.... One2One that is.

There`s no Macrovision hack for the 105 I`m afraid - Samsung had their wrist slapped when Macrovision found out about the 709 hack. You`ll need to use an external Macrovision stripper.

Yeah - thought so. I`ve ordered one of those thingies from Sonel. Picked up my 105 today - can`t wait to try it out.

dusty: i need a new tv! and my contracts up soon too ... where is this offer for the nicam 28" tv? id prefer orange...thanx in advance
