I know this has been posted before but i phoned up to cancel Sky and got offered a refurbished Sky + as an incentive to stay, accepted expecting to get a 40 gig box. Installed this morning and i have the new version box with 80gig drive that was released Wednesday.

exactly, it`s pot luck what u get with sky. It`s all down to your installer and what supply he`s issued with on the day of your installation.

We might aswell just go and buy lottery tickets.

I got an 80GB one too. :)
The installer did say, I am still limited to 20 hours recording though.
Think it was 20, could be wrong I usually am.

Yep, the V3 (80gb) boxes have 2 HDD partitions-one for general recording , the other for their soon to come VOD

is it possible to connect other devices to Sky+ for recording? Does it only record channels available in Sky+ or is there an input for other devices.

I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.
