Are you sure this is HD ready?

It certainly has a high enough resolution, but I saw no mention of a DVI or HDMI input, nor does the web page have a "HD Ready" logo.

An alternative is the DIBOSS 32 INCH LT-32HLP for £763.74 inc VAT

This is HDCP ready through the DVI port, although it doesn`t appear to have component inputs.

Of course the Diboss is pig-ugly compared to the Hyundai, but that may just be my opinion.

There is a 32 inch LCD TV in Aldi for that kind of price - Tevion branded and it definitley said HDTV ready on the box.

A display device has to cover the following requirements to be awarded the logo "HD ready":
1. Display, display engine
• The minimum native resolution of the display or display engine is 720 physical lines in wide aspect ratio.

2. Video Interfaces
• The display device accepts HD input via:
Analogue YPbPr1, and
DVI or HDMI

• HD capable inputs accept the following HD video formats:
1280x720 @ 50 and 60Hz progressive ("720p"), and
1920x1080 @ 50 and 60Hz interlaced ("1080i")

• The DVI or HDMI input supports content protection (HDCP)

That is an excellent TV for the price. Usually, at that price the LCD display would have poor black, colour banding and unnatural white but this one apparently performs well in those departments although personally I have not seen it.

Having said that large screen LCDs tend to perform poorly with low resolution sources. I much rather prefer the 26 inch Acer AL2671W at around £570 due to its smaller pixel size despite the black levels on 26 inch screens being less deep than those of a 32 inch screen. Furthermore, the DVI output on the Acer screen is HDCP compliant which allows viewing of HDTV from Sky - I`m not sure whether the Hyundai display is HDCP compliant even if it is HDTV ready.
