ONE DAY ONLY: 30% off across the board at Boots + loyalty points

ONE DAY ONLY!!!

INTRODUCTORY BLURB

As many of you will be aware, Boots currently have a valid 20% off discount code (STFT98, for first time purchasers) which has given rise to a number of very interesting bargains of late, not least of which was the UK`s cheapest iPods. These are all out of stock now - however plenty of consumer technology bargains still exist (e.g. digital cameras).

HOWEVER, as if that wasn`t enough, they are now having a 10% off day. As the description suggests, this is for TODAY ONLY. The site still lists the full price of each item with the discount appearing automatically once you get to the checkout. Now for the clever bit...the 20% off code still works IN ADDITION TO this one day only discount and it is also based on the full list price of the item, not the 10% discounted price. Thus you get 30% in price reduction at the checkout. Furthermore, if you have an advantage card, you will also get your usual 4 advantage card points for every pound spent (also based on the full list price of the item), bringing the net cost benefit to 34%.

This level of discount across the board is simply unheard of.

HELPFUL HINT

The discount code mentioned above is only available to first time purchasers on teh Boots site. If you have purchased from Boots before the discount will still show up in your basket prior to logging in. However, as soon as you log-in it will disappear again. To get around this restriction, simply create a new account with Boots where everything except your email address is the same. Then purchase using the new account, not the old one.

THE BARGAINS

Okay guys...this is one of those rare occurrences where there is just toooo much information preparation to make it sensible to list all the bargains available on this NG (I`ve been collating all the info since 9am this morning). I have a long list of digital camera bargains on my site where I`ve done all the maths for you, showing you the exact cash cost to you after discount and separately factoring in the value of the advantage card points. Stock levels as of 9am are also listed there to give you an idea of how quickly these items are selling:

For those who would rather look for themselves here`s a direct non-affiliate link to the digital cameras section of the Boots website:

http://www.boots.com/shop/product_list_new_template.jsp?classificationid=1026441

Of course, there may also be other tasty treats...however, I do know that (unsurprisingly) iPods and games consoles (with the exception of the Gameboy Advance SP Silver) are out of stock.

As a taster, to give you an idea of the kind of savings available, here are some example digicam prices (after 30% off but WITHOUT factoring in the value of advantage card points):

Fuji A330: £69.99
Canon A75: £104.30
Minolta Z10: £104.99
Coolpix 4100: £104.99
Mju Mini: £125.99
Nikon 5200: £153.99
Sony P100: £160.99

Typical - bought the iPod Mini yesterday...AND only got to use the 10% voucher as my account wasn`t a new one... :D

Oh well, like you say, they`re out of stock now anyway so I still did well...

Before anyone jump on the bandwagon, check out the prices of the cameras elsewhere like http://www.pricegrabber.co.uk. I just did a comparison on the Canon Powershot S60 - Boots £399 - 30% = roughly £270, pricegrabber returned lowest price £278.
Sony P100 - pricegrabber £180.
So there are some bargains, but not as much as first thought.

Fair comment, Kamion.

I specifically left the S60 off my list as it can actually be sourced for around £260 from EBuyer. There are some darned expensive prices on teh Boots site sometimes.

However, that said...the cheapest Mju Mini is around £170.
£126 + £7.19 in Boots points seems a very good discount to me.

The discounts relative to cheapest available elsewhere will inevitably vary from camera to camera but in the main all the cameras I mentioned are, without exception, the cheapest prices that can currently be found in the UK.

cheers,
RM

It appears that when i get through to the checkout its only deucting 10%

When i go back to look at the promo code, it now says

` Sorry, but the promotional code you have used is not valid at this time `

Any ideas ???

yes...got 2 cameras, so over £40

I can put in an additional code for 10% off and that works giving me 20% in total.

Have also tried creating 2 new accounts and doing one with and one without an advantage card.

Any ideas ? as i still can`t muster 30% !

Nup hthe 20% discount is no longer working ,but there are plenty of codes for 10% that still work and if used with the 10% offer today its still a respectable 20% saving :)
