In the end I plumped for a TV/VCR combi by Samsung (Fastext etc) for £59 from House of Fraser - they`re having a clear out. Prefer to add a £20 MR DVD player to this than the other way - and with Nationwide Credit Card got 2nd year gtee free.

Reason I went for this was that when I tried the Mico TV/DVD it played less discs than a Sofia I had which was over a year old! And Samsung have a good rep.

RM - I don`t think your post is quite right. I don`t think you can get further discount off the £59 as you suggest as the product says that not further discounts can be applied. However, if you put in an Advantage Card number you get an additional 708 points (worth £7 to spend in Boots)... and apparently if you haven`t got an online Advantage card you can apply for one online before ordering and get ann additional 200 advantage points.

You`re right, Searcher - I should amend my post.
It seems that this is one of a few bargains that do not accept the use of discount codes - I`ll amend my post accordingly.
