Cannot find it on their web site but picked up a Maplin sale catologue today. DVD recorder designed to be hooked up to desktop/laptop for £99. Called a jumping jack or something like that. if anyone is interested I can find more details tomorrow ;-)

It`s called a Jack Rabbit and it`s an external `clamshell` type DVD recorder that connects to the USB ports... IIRC single layer only and I *think* it`s only 4x.

Advantages; It has Video and Audio out so you can use it as a standalone DVD player.

Better prices can be found though;

Would it be possible to connect this to a DVD player/VCR/Digibox, and use it as a DVD recorder? Or can it only be used to record to DVD via a PC/Laptop?

Cheers

MJ

All it says in the Maplins catologue is "can be used as a standalone playback device, connected to a tv". So recording off TV, suggests not
