As prophecised earlier, the offer is know on. I picked up galaxy quest but nothing else interested me so i put it back down. instead of doing 3 for 2 they should just make all dvds £13-£14 for a limited period. I didnt want to buy crap dvds just cos they are cheap. The ones that i could think of that were good were not in stock

I agree - how many more High St shops are we gonna see full of DVD fans desperately trying to find a third disc to make the offer worthwhile.

Must add am extremely impressed with the Bond ones, WOW. Lots of effort put in, the films mite be crap but the discs aint.

you must be loaded to be able to spend over 120 quid on dvds in 2 days
I used to go out and buy anything as well once but know i have to think about whether its really worth buying when i can rent it/ do i really need/want it?

Does anyone know of problems with The World Is Not Enough?
The first copy played for about 30 mins then the picture garbled with lots of multicoloured boxes then played with occasional garble and sound 3 secs out of sync.
I returned it to Smiths and the new one plays for about 15 mins then it totally garble with good sound.
Is there a problem with this film like there is apparently with Gladiator and The Matrix? Or is it my cheap crap DVD player?
BTW The Matrix plays OK, I borrowed it.

Yeah i got Men In Black Limited Edition 2 discs
Hollow Man and Galaxy Quest today. £35.98 plus got 1.75 off with my clubcard so it was 34.23 or there abouts.
Hollow Man and Galaxy quest were priced at 19.99
and MIB 21.99 however i only got charged 16.99 for hollow man and galaxy quest and the offer gave me 19.99 off instead of 16.99 which was the lowesti paid. was dissapointed to see that o brother wasnt there. What is the deal with that? do they even know that it has been released cos i havent seen it in any of their stores at all. I guess i`ll order it online. Thats right the offer is also available online with a wider range and cheaper prices and free p+P. downside you have to wait for delivery rather than get it in your hand

OK, let`s put things into perspective here - not every branch of Smiths has the same range of titles on the shelves, it depends on the size of the store and popularity of DVD in the area. "O Brother..." has been at my branch since its release date - it`s currently a chart title. Incidentally, it`s £16.99 at the mo so grab it if you can.

And before anyone says anything, yes I work for them. I`m not being biased here tho, I`m quite happy to get my stuff elsewhere if it`s not on the shelves (or in stock! TIP: a lot of titles never make it to the shelves, always ask them to check through the back). Loyalty shmoyalty, whoever`s cheapest gets my cash. *sigh* Ah well, Play247 here I come again...

at my store here in plymouth the offer applies on all DVD`s excluding box sets, so yesterday i managed to get my hands on independence day, cliffhanger and titan AE, so it worked out that each DVD was about 13 quid each - bargain!!!!
