That is a good price, but you will soon crave a zoom lens, and I think Boots have a 2Mp Nikon Coolpix for about £90, which has a decent lens with 3x zoom. I`ve seen some excellent results from this camera - even A4 prints are acceptable.

Worth the extra, IMHO.

I Have seen the Nikon (online) so a deduction of 10% at the online price is quite good, however it is out of stock.

My local boots store Has the Canon A70 which is 3.2MP + zoom lens at £129. I am not sure if this is a nationwide offer, so I did not post. The online price at boots is £229. The cheapest I have seen this camera elsewhere is on special offer in Argos £149-99. The offer in my local store is subject to availability.

In addition with the cannon you can get a free mem card.

The Canon A70 is an excellent camera that cost £300 less than a year ago. It`s a bit chunkier than the Nikon, but that makes it easier to hold steady, in my view.

Re the Q1.
I picked up one with a 16mb card for £ 44.95 using a 25% discount Boots code from an earlier BB post.
As a easy use or 1st time digital it`s as good as many folk will ever need, it`s well made with nice picture quality and a easy to learn interface ( the young recipient was over the moon with it ).
Incidently the best price I`ve found for a 64mb XD card is £ 13.25 plus £ 1.95 postage from 7 dayshop.com ( often recommended on these forums )
