Bargain Buckets Forum
After the last bargain headphones (The Philips one`s), I found I needed to get some new one`s as my son had commandeered the Philips set for his 4 track recorder. I figured at £1.99 with a free adaptor it was worth the risk of them being crap and having to throw them away. I`ve had headphones for years and been into hi-fi for years (I use two pairs of Sennheiser`s in my home studio). So were they any good? Too right they were! I spent last night in bed putting on old Cd`s and wondering why I had never heard them properly before!! As for Donald Fagen`s `Kamakiriad`............................I was stunned. To be honest, if I had spent £40 on them I would have been pleased with the sound, but £1.99!! It`s the separation and bass guitar sounds that do it, real bass guitar strings being plucked and pulled, but they don`t fail on anything or any part of the spectrum. Doesn`t matter how much is going on you hear every instrument, and voices sound as if they are right there with you, and with such detail! Anyone else tried `em? Roger.

great! im off to my nearest store! i too bought the philips and were well pleased with them.cheers. :)
One thing about these is that they weigh a little (lot) less than the Philips!
:) you were spot on! managed to get the last pair, look a bit naff in royal blue.but as you say if there crap you take em back.was sceptical at first, but, wow! these cans do rock!whatever kind of music you play, simply amazing, especially when the 1.99 price comes into the equation.am using them with my archos jukebox/mp player, good spot!
would urge anyone out there to save up and go buy a pair! :)
Glad you like `em!! I had a pair in black, went back and bought another pair as I figured that they would be hard to find again if/when these eventually pack in, only had the blue but who cares? The other point is that they have a 3 year guarantee and it`s a British address, just make sure you file away the receipt where you can find it, Lol :D
there foam covered, and not cheap foam either! who cares about the details etc? they are 1.99 repeat 1.99 and are the best sounding phones even compared to loads of others up to anything 20.00-40.00,original poster is right. dont be put off by the apparently toyish, cheapish appearance, these are MONSTERS in disguise! :)
Very sceptical about post as `one mans meat is another man`s poison` & I`ve been disappointed before. However these really are great. I took a chance & bought 2. Had a choice of colours Blue/Grey, Blue/something else. but I got the Black/Yellow, & Black/Blue,Grey ones. Bournemouth Winton have about 25 pairs left. as of Monday 14-June 04
I dont doubt the sound quality, its the fact that anything "foam" wise in the way of personal stereo or I-Pod type plug ins, tends to irritate my ears.
Sticking with the Philips for the near future. :/

Fair point Rass, if your susceptible to that no point in getting them. Mind you, my wife`s happier because those large Philips one`s would knock against the headboard (stop sn*****ing at the back there!) when I turned my head to get at my bottle of beer on the bedside cabinet. I couldn`t hear it because of the music, but she`s a light sleeper, and the slightest thing wakes her. The most common phrase being "I can hear that music and i`m trying to sleep!"............................bless her! Mind you she hasn`t complained (yet) when i`ve played the Welltech`s.
