It`s showing as £99.99 on their website (edit: just noticed you said hte reduction isn`t until the 29th). Bear in mind this is Time Computers we`re talking about too (under their new name). They tend to be fairly vague when it comes to quoting specs.

I`ll bet it has an optical resolution (the important bit) of 2 megapixels (MP) or less, and the 4MP quoted is due to interpolation (a bit of jiggery-pokery inside the camera), which won`t give anything like the quality of a true 4 MP camera.

I notice they also fail to quote the optical resolution too, and no optical zoom which throws the alarm bells up too. You`d expect a true 4 MP camera to have one. Not bad for the price, but be aware it won`t be like the top end camera you may be imagining. :)

Just been in our Asda tonight, and they have a nice little Fuji (A06 I think it was) for £99. 2 MP, 3 times optical zoom, movie mode etc. I`ve had a 2mp Fuji for a number of years (when 2mp was about the highest they went), and the pictures from it are very good (3x optical zoom).

I got a Samsung Digimax 101 for some beach sports we do, as I didn`t want to damage the more expensive camera, and that`s good too. 1.3mp, movie mode, but no optical zoom, was £90 when I got it, down to £60 a lot of places now too. Gives good photos, especially for web use.

The Asda Fuji has the best features of both the cameras I have, all in one unit.

Mark. :)

I`m sure most of you have already heard of steves-digicams.com! But for those who haven`t I used this brilliant site when trying to decide what digital camera to get, it doesn`t have the Opus one you`re referring to in this thread but it`s a definite MUST for anyone trying to decide which camera to go for, includes sample pictures of LOADS of cameras so you can check out the quality of the image before you break the bank balance.

I even found that some 4-5 MP camera`s didn`t have the picture quality that perhaps a 2-3 MP would have! Surprised?! Don`t be fooled by the number of pixels because in my experience (and many others!) the image quality can vary drastically!

(Majority of stores wont give refunds on digital camera`s so its definitely worth having a look at this site)

Talking of 2mb cameras with optical zooms, the Canon A60 is still around for £100 as is the Minolta X20, both superb (but different) cameras. I`m still in love with my Minolta, it`s the first camera I`ve owned that can go everywher with me (well, almost, going waterbugging and zorbing next weekend, camera may have to stay in car).
