Canon Powershot A60 £99-99, Amazon!!!
Check the reviews & prices
Looks to be a good buy to me
Gary
this really is one of THE top 2 mega pixel cameras out there. Makes a change to see a top brand below the £100 barrier. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

How does that compare with the A300 for the extra money (Dabs £133)?

Cheers Niteowl
p.s. the A60 sounds an excellent price - dabs have it for £146.87
If you look at the review for the Canon A300 at www.imaging-resource.com
They more or less conclude buy saying that if you can afford to spend a bit more, go for the Canon A60 or A70, mainly for the optical zoom lens which the A300 does not have.
So as at this time the A60 is cheaper to buy than the A300 it must be the best option to go for it.
Gary :) :)
Great spot Gary :)

In the Hardware Forum `Recommend me a good cheap camera` I posted this on the 31st Jan. Shows you lot don`t check all the forums. The chap seemed to prefer a Fuji anyway.
As the owner of a Fuji a405 bought recently at PC World when they were on offer for £99-99 I have to say the Fuji is a great camera,
But the Canon A60 at the price it can be got now, considering all the positive reviews I have seen has to be well worth buying.
My 19 year old son has put his order in & Im sure he will be well pleased. :)
He didnt want the same camera as his old dad anyway

Gary,
Have you taken any indoor shots under reasonable lighting? What was the quality like? Did you get much `noise` in the picture?
I ask because I recently sold of my Fuji F410 after being seriously disappointed with indoors shots under reasonable levels of artificial lighting?
Under low lighting I find the 405 is suspectible to noise except when using the zoom for close-ups.
I believe the A60 is better for this and it has a helper light for autofocusing in dark conditions.
Big hello to Joe Pineapples!
Always a big fan of your `balls bazooka`.
How did that work exactly?
