Page 1 of Beko 17 inch LCD TV for £329.99 (limited stock) from Argos

Slightly complicated one, but worth sticking with...

Argos are doing a 15" Beko LCD TV for £329.00 (search for LCD TV on the website). It says on the product page that the 15" inch model may be replaced by a 17" inch version instead.

Reserved one last night at our local store and went in this morning and confirmed it was the 17" version. Stocks seem to be very limited - could only find one store in the Glasgow area and didn`t seem to be many available in other areas either. You could order from the website directly but then no way of knowing if you are getting the 15" or 17" version.

They seem to be quite different models with the 17" one much better looking in my opinion. Here`s a link for what appears to be the 17 inch model that we got -

It came with remote control and VGA cable and is designed to be used as a PC monitor also. Set it up today to check for dead pixels etc and seems perfect.

Hope you have luck in tracking one down locally if you fancy it.

Good spot.

Just been to my local Argos in Reading. They had two in stock, bought one and got the 17".

Good spec, two Scarts (one RGB), composite phono and S-video inputs and phono audio output. Vesa wall mount compatible. Also will run on 12V.

thanks for the info mate, went to argos in chelmsley wood,birmingham,they said they had been flying out all day,manager said they still had about 20 in stock,anyway got it home,connected to our pc,but no sound,tv mode ok,the same with our ps2,but no sound from the pc :/ ,looked at the intructions,it said when using with the pc for the first time there will be no sound,only through head phones,but i don`t have any,please could u advise,again thanks for the info :D

Haven`t got the LCD or the instructions here. It was a present for the in-laws, and their just using it as a TV. Remember if you only have the VGA cable connected to the monitor from your PC no sound will come through that. I don`t know if it has connections you can use from your sound card?

Maybe someone else who bought one could help?

Can it be used as a TV and monitor. can you have both connected and swap between the inputs.

Yup,

It has separate inputs for the VGA cable and and ariel or scart sockets. You just hit the PC/TV button on the remote to switch between the two.

Their not widescreen though are they ?
Isn`t that throwing your money away when a widescreen LCD can be had for not much more ????? :/

My thoughts too Bowfer.... they are quite a bit more though for a 17" widescreen.... but I think I`ll wait a bit longer for the prices to come down and get a widescreen. I have one of these reserved until tonight at Argos but I think I`ve spent too much from using this forum!

Check this widescreen 17" LCD out for the same money as the Beko.
Might not be a respected TV maker, but seem to be a respected computer monitor maker,anjd they certainly can`t be any worse than the crap that is Beko.
I speak from experience with Beko.They are crap.
In my opinion, it is MADNESS to buy non-widescreen TV`s these days.
