RE: Viking direct - freeview + free phone
Is this box any good? Also, can you upgrade your access to include pay channels? I`d miss E4, for example.
RE: Viking direct - freeview + free phone
There aren`t any pay channels available to Freeview.

Yes this box is good I have one on the 2nd TV and it is hard to fault it.
They are available for £59.99 and some Safeways and Woolworths so if you have no use for the phone thay may be other options.
RE: Viking direct - freeview + free phone
The Sagem is a pile of junk that is best avoided.
I bought one of these from Safeway, and took it back after one day.
It works ok in Freeview digital mode, but when you want to watch your normal analogue channels you can`t because there is so much loss in the signal and vertical noise lines running left to right across the screen makes it un watchable. I am not the only one to have found this problem either, as it`s been mentioned elsewhere on DigitalSpy forums.
I nearly forgot...The Sagem is only £59.99 in main Safeway and Woolworth stores.

I have a Goodmans GDB2 which is a brilliant receiver. The GDB3 is the same.
The Goodmans receivers are the best if you live in a poor reception area.

That`s what I bought one for , why have a quality rgb output and watch in analogue ? it might be your signal though as I have just checked mine and analogue is ok .
How long have you been reading the DigitalSpy forums ? I seem to remember once that a very large number of people were moaning like hell about the quality and reliability of the great Goodmans box and even if they were the best I would never buy another Goodmans product again due to bad experiences of their top quality ;) products in the past .

Checked again and there is no problem at all watching analogue through the Sagam digibox I own.
Also for what it is worth the Sagam box has generally had very good write ups on the DigitalSpy Forums.
