Made by Mustek, Cirrus Logic chipset :)

By all accounts it`s the same recorder that was supposed to be the Bush 2003, that appeared in Argos catalogues but never came out :)

I thought Grundig had been taken over by Sampo

Fell through - Grundig were in too much debt for Sampo to rescue them ! A deal also fell through with Beko in Turkey, for the same reasons. Grundig are, as far as I know, still operating but they are in administration (a bit like Notts County FC).

The Grundig products that appear in Dixons/Currys are OEM models, rather than being made by the company themselves.

brought one of these for work last weekend, seems to be fairly good both in quality of features and build
but beware
it does sound like you`ve got a hoover running next to your tv

Have you tried this hack for region-free, cat (no guarantees it`ll work, mind...)
