Well this is my first post so "Hi" i have often lurked around here for some time :D .

On the topic of the dvd player please read the link provided http://www.reviewcentre.com/post39250.html and the replies as there seems to be some problems with the player.

Also this forum is great not only for dvd bargins but for other hardware too (please keep it that way) i have bought a few things mentioned in here and all items have been (a) cheap and (b)quality.

The Thompson Freeview box is excellent. I bought one when they were 20% off in Argos - this is an even better price.
The first one we had seemed to need resetting (i.e. unplugging) at least once a day, but I got it changed, and I think in 2 months, we`ve only had to reset it once.

this is a lower model of thomson box, oit is a dti550 with one scart. no rf modulator and no audio out, it is basically poor value for money, identical to the ferguson fdt500

Richard H, your resetting problem may be the same as some Sky users experience.

It is due to spikes in the electricity supply, a cheap surge and spike protector cured this problem for me and four other people I know of.

If only everything was half price at Woolies !

Thanks Davo - I did try adding a surge protector on the original one, but it didn`t make any difference. As I say, thouhg, the replacement one`s fine!
