In todays (Sunday 26 Jan) News Of The World. In the "Sunday" mag page 19, is an offer of a Bush DVD 2023 (Mico Platano 1003) for £49.99. I believe you have to order the Grattan Catalogue. There is a freephone number...0800 333 444. It also states that you can pay £2.50 per week over 20 weeks The Mico page, to see what the DVD looks like is...http://www.micoelectric.com/mainpage.htm

Very good value..... i have that player...... lack of dts is the only negative.

On the Mico website it states the `Plantano 1003` has `DTS`. As the Bush is a clone I would have thought it would also have it. Perhaps it needs an upgrade disc?

The remote control is the same as my Mico Clasica 20. I`d bet it is the same as the Mico Planto 1003.

Had a look at the manual on Mico`s website, the Platano 1003 does not have an inbuilt DTS decoder but suggests you connect digital audio output via co-axial to a amp /receiver with a decoder to " enjoy dts audio system " But a smart multi region machine at less than the price of three full price DVD`s you can`t really go wrong can you ?
Now wheres that phone ? P.
Additional info : found this " Dolby Digital/DTS/ Bitstream/PCM digital coaxial output " on another spec sheet

The advert say`s nothing about having to pay over £60-00 in order to get it. The operator also said nothing. I have given some (not all) personal details. I WILL get one for £49.99, otherwise "Trading standards" or "The Advertising Standards" will here about it.

Having promised this to my daughter I would be extremely annoyed if it was anything less than it appears to be. I have scoured the ad from top to bottom ( including the small print ;-)) )and there is no mention of any additional purchase requirements, indeed this quote would I believe be the basis for a successful prosecution.
"Why settle for less than the best ? Place an order with Grattan and you don`t have to. For starters you can buy a state of the art DVD Player for just £ 2.50 a week for 20 weeks ( or £ 49.99 cash ) "
No mention of any conditions but I`ll phone them tomorrow to check and post back. P.
