No drawbacks I can see other than you have to pay your first 3 months rental (£39) till they give you your refund cheque. If you trade in your phone, charger and manual you can get £50 so that will cover it.
Excellent offer haven`t seen this anywhere. Well done that man.

Bummer.
At the time I ordered it was £50 for your old phone, charger and manual. I am wondering if I will still get my £50 trade-in as my new phone is due to arrive today.

I feel like Carphone Warehouse have ripped me off here ! I ordered my mobile on Wednesday night and the system confirmed there would be a £50 cheque back for my old phone including charger and manual. I did not receive a pre-paid Jiffy Bag to send my old phone back in when my new mobile arrived today. I called Carphone Warehouse and they told me there had been an "internet error" and that the cheque back is now only £10. I feel cheated but there is nothing I can do.
I have to say also that I have spent around 2 hours today stuck in Carphone Warehouse`s automated answer service and keep getting passed around different departments at Carphone Warehouse. Not the best customer service I`ve ever experienced ! It seems to me to be a trick to get people to sign up and then the deal changes once you have the phone and have connected. You can`t get through to customer services and get stuck with the phone. At this moment I am thinking to send the phone back.
Has anyone else bought this deal and did you get £50 cheque back for your old mobile ?

Further news. After a bit of complaining today and eventually talking to the original sales rep who took the order, Carphone Warehouse reluctantly agreed to honour the deal that I signed up for and give £50 for my old phone, charger and manual. They did tell me that there was an "internet error" but I threatened to send the phone back.
Fair play to Carphone Warehouse for admitting the mistake and honouring the deal.
