Note that they charge your card on order.
Note there`ll be no customs problems with this one, and that it isn`t the version with the bookends or National Geographic.
Be rude not to, really, wouldn`t it...
"Special Extended DVD Edition" is a four-disc set with two discs containing the film.
Does this mean we have to change over the film halfway through or are there two version one per disc, anybody know? I have a perfect Thai DVD copy (Via My Thai Student) with extras all on one disc. If the whole film is on one disk & I don`t have to change it over halfway I would still Buy this version.

Clayts, interesting to note their version with both the book-ends and the National Geographic, as it`s a 5-disk set! I think i`m right in thinking that makes it at least 4 different versions of the same movie! I still think i`ll wait a while, as November is some way off. Roger.

Cheers Clayts,i`ve been checking on the DVDSoon website off and on for the price to appear.Just received Royal Tenenbaums(Criterion 2 Disc) from them and they are a good company.Just placed my order for LOTR,at that price i don`t mind waiting, won`t get it any quicker over here anyway.
Incidently Roger,i think the extra disc,is just the Doccumentry from the History channel(?),which,i for one,am not too fussed about and don`t even get me started on book-ends!! :o)
Paull, this is the extended version, with 30 minutes extra footage being added, and it IS split over two discs - this has been discussed in the software forum - opinion is divided - some are too lazy to move half way through the film, some welcome the lavvy break :o}

This style of split was very well done on "Lawrence of Arabia" with David Lean insisting that the film was split at the original cinema intermission : I think it`s a great idea, as it means quality of the film is not compromised (and it means our DVD collections increase by 2 rather than 1 !!!)
Thank you, RichardH & Clayts. If it gives you chance to get another cold beer, then I will get it. I like the idea of the extra`s. I have the normal LOTR as the complete film on DVD anyhow.

RE: LOTR 4 disc £15.84 inc P & P !!!!
Just looked at website,it says audio format French,English subtitles.
It actually states :
Audio format: French : Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround, English : DTS 5.1 Surround
Subtitles: English, French
Canada is a dual-language country so everything over there is in French AND English :-)
RE: LOTR 4 disc £15.84 inc P & P !!!!
Interesting that they`ve only gone for 2 soundtracks - English in DTS only - those buying this version should make sure they have a DTS decoder! (Although I presume a 2 channel mix will be pumped out through the scart to the TV, too). Mind you, there`s all those commentaries to fit in.....
Also, I bet the French audio is the default, so a slight pain in having to select a different soundtrack. Great price, though. Wonder if it`s worth holding on for a while to see what else pops up - and keep an eye on the exchange rates :)
EDIT - just seen this version http://dvdimport.com/product.asp?productid=11890 at dvdimport - works out at £20, but the info is more detailed, and the audio is as follows: ENGLISH: Dolby Digital Stereo ENGLISH: DTS ES 6.1 ENGLISH: DD-EX 5.1
EDIT 2 - Just seen the collectors box set (with book ends) here http://www.dvdorchard.com.au/products.asp?PND=103341 for £25.80 delivered. I think I`m going to wait a bit to see what shakes out.
