The tariff isn`t great (Orange matching Vodafone Business), but the phone is better than many others. Certainly beats paying about £80 for it as a pay as you go and then having higher call charges. Free phone anyway!!

Edit: Or you could pay £50 and get a Nokia 3330 instead.

All Orange contracts allow you to change it down to a better one after the first month.
Unless there is some weird condition?

I got the Carphone Warehouse deal, phone + tv-set at xmas,
I swapped the Talk60 to Everyday50 which is much better suited for me.

Does anyone know about this comapany? Sure they have a flashy website but wht`s to say they won`t go bust before they send you your cheque?

Has anyone managed to buy one? I click on the checkout button, fill in my personal details (no CC details) click continue and I`m taken back to their home page!

I`ve sent them a couple of e-mails asking how you buy it but I`ve had no response.

I have managed to order one I have had a confimation e-mail back and a e-mail saying that." We are currently experiencing very high volumes of orders, and therefore regret to inform that your order has been delayed."

so I am hopful its gone trough ok lets see I managed to get the kodak deal and the latest carphonewarehouse deal.

You might want to wait until they offer another phone. My company has just upgraded us all to these phones, and I hate to say it but it is the worst phone I have ever had. It often locks up, it is very difficult for callers to hear you, the Vibrate function is terrible, the menu system is very poor, but the worst thing is entering text messages, It is so slow. Most of my colleagues have had similar problems as well.

My advice is stick to Nokia.

An alternative is http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/ninemonths , It offers a Motorola v50 (which looks as crap as the sony) a really cheep camera but a better tarrif.

£13.99 per month inc billing, 600 minuites off-Peak and 50 text messages per month (100 for first 6 months). Being on Vodafone, the phone is usulay unlocked.

You only get 9 months free line rental but you will gain on the better tarrif and Dialaphone is quite a welknown company, I have had mobiles off them in 1997 and my currunt mobile from which I have revied my 6 months line rental, refunded directly into my bank account.

Yeah, the Sony is a bit ropey - I have a J5, and, although I like the menu system/jog dial, the ring tones are bizarre (it`s been said before, but they do sound like an ice cream van!) and often too quiet - the vibra is not beefy enough and can`t be used with the ring, and I`ve had problems with it switching itself off for no reason. I`m off back to Nokia, I`m afraid. Shame, as there are things to like about that phone.

Re Dialaphone, I was offered that 9 month thing a little while ago - they also offered a 3310 (or 3330, can`t remember) - might be worth ringing them up and asking. You can`t transfer an existing number to them, though (what do you expect for that price - I need to keep my number, though). Have heard various comments re customer service being poor from them, but no personal experience.

Dialaphone couldnt organize a p*** up in a brewery nevermind sell mobile phones. Buy from somewhere else if possible!
