Cibox C1905 19" monitor random beep sound ???

I have just purchased the above monitor from e-buyer, £117.49 quickfind code: 119321, and am very happy with it to date. However, I do have a query that I hope somebody can help me resolve. Every 2 minutes or so it makes a random beep noise and its starting to drive me mad!!! :/ I have checked all the menu settings and read and re-read the manual but there is no reference to the phantom beep.

Can anybody suggest how I might get rid of the annoying beep before I go mad.

Many thanks in anticipation.

RE: Got any spare unused O2 sim cards - get FREE credit upto £50

Followed the instructions 3 times but no luck on each occasion. :( Any suggestions on what I can do to get this right very welcome ;)

RE: Star Wars trilogy - £14.99

Guess what? I went into the Chesterfield store with my reservation from about 10 pm last night at £14.99 and was told it was now £29.99. Thats the second time in 4 days I have been in to buy it for £14.99. Am really hacked off.

It strikes me that this whole exercise might be a cynical marketing ploy to attract people into Argos. Otherwise why the rather irrational marketing decision to alter the price of this boxset at least 5 times in 4 days. Specifically

Wednesday pm price £29.99

Thursday am price £14.99

Thursday pm price £29.99

Saturday pm price £14.99

Sunday am £29.99

Thanks :)

RE: Pioneer DV575A Multiregion at Superfi

As I am now in the market for a replacement for my much loved, but ancient, Toshiba SD2109 B I am intrigued by this posting! Can someone elaborate on why the Pioneer DV575A Multiregion is such a good player and therefore a good buy at this price? :D

RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast

I have been otherwise engaged today so I have been unable to post my thoughts until now and it's been useful to reflect on what other people have said before typing this. However, I would like to stress that just because Skybuy has provided bargains in the past for many members of this forum, me included btw, this in no way excuses the current shambles. Am I to assume that those of who have been stung, to the tune of £130.00 in a matter of 2 weeks in my case, are to sit back and accept that:

a) We may have received bargains in the past so losing £130.00 now is acceptable

b) Other people have received bargains in the past so losing £130.00 now is also acceptable

c) Other people continue to receive bargains so losing £130.00 now is acceptable because they are not affected

Philanthropic and community minded I may be, and I am pleased that many other forum members have dealt with Skybuy successfully, but that is scant consolation for me. Putting an extra and unwarranted £130.00 into their pockets is not something I can easily acquiesce too.

I would also point out that it is by having open, free and participative forums like this we are on occasions able to identify and find a solution for bad practice that results in a poor deal for consumers. Or in the spirit of Gordon Gekko 'The most valuable commodity I know of is information'.

RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast

It seems like a large number of us are being fleeced by an allegedly "legitimate" company that is behaving in a completely irresponsible way. How do we get Watchdog or similar interested in this farce? Is it something Trading Standards might be interested in too? Is the posting above about prices changing within 28 days meriting a refund applicable/accurate?

HELP !! and call the lawyers.... and I never thought I would type that!!

RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast

I am not very happy >:( to see that the Toshiba 32" TV I ordered for £449.00 is now down to £319 :o . Is this legal I ask myself :/ and can I do anything about it? All views appreciated!!

I also notice that if you type in 32" as instructed the Sharp package for £420, which is what I wanted weeks ago, now re-appears. Does that mean it is now available again? This despite an e mail from Sky assuring me it would not be available again. :/

Cheap Sony TV package deals at John Lewis

Having missed all the TV bargains at Skybuy :( I have been looking around for a value for money package consisting of widescreen TV and as many `extras` as possible. As a result I have found the attached at John Lewis, which look like bargains ... apart from the fact that they are currently out of stock! :/ However JL promise they will mail you when they are back in again. Looks a bargain deal to me.

A 32 inch flat screen television from Sony`s Wega range featuring 100Hz technology to produce a clearer, flicker-free picture. Includes stand. With a home cinema DVD system, featuring Dolby ProLogic II, a digital amplifier and Bass Boost function. £960

A 32 inch flat screen television from Sony`s Wega range featuring 100Hz technology to produce a clearer. Includes stand. With a combination deck incorporating dual playback DVD and NICAM stereo VCR. £911

Also if anybody knows of a better combination at a better price can you please post it here. Ta :D

RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast

Has anybody who ordered the 28 inch Toshiba TV for £150.00 received it yet? it appears to be back in stock again at Sky Buy. If yes can you tell me the model number and does it come with a stand? Would you also recommend it as a spare e.g. for bedroom viewing? :p

Sad to say I missed out on the Sharp package for £420.00 and have been kicking myself ever since. :(

RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast

Has anybody taken delivery of the Sharp monster package yet? If so can you let me know what you think? I am very tempted by this but still have this nagging doubt that its not the bargain it seems also I am struggling to find any online reviews of the TV. Those nice people at Sky mailed me to say the model was the 32LW92H but nil reviews located. :/

CraigAFC did your monster package turn up yet? :D

RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast

I am very tempted to take the plunge now that the 32in Sharp "monster" package for £420 is back in stock. Has anybody received their Sharp package yet and is it the fantastic bargain :) it looks like? or is it too good to be true? :(

Heres hoping its the former :)

Problems with SONY DVD RW DW-U10A DVD burner

:(

I have recently acquired a MESH Matrix PC and overall I am very pleased with it. However, I have got one extremely frustrating problem. I cannot get the blasted thing to burn any DVDs!

The burner is a SONY DVD RW DW-U10A and I have tried 4 different makes of blank disc, including the Traxdata advertised on BBF, and not one of them has worked. The DVD player tells me that the formats i.e. DVD+R or DVD -R are not compatible when I try to play them but the burner/player are supposed to support all formats apart from DVD-RAM and I know I am not burning those!

Can anybody help as this is driving me insane!!! :( :( :(

RE: Dvd2one Can you get it free from anywhere?

As a complete Newbie who acquired a new PC with a DVD burner only this Saturday I wonder whether I might be a candidate for your "Newbie`s Guide" when finished?

I must admit I am struggling with the wealth of information on burning DVDs, I just need an idiots guide that spells it out.
