Right the player software will have 5 resets before it locks to one region. Download DVD Genie to get around this. Very easy. Just look on google for it.
The drive region settings require a firmware change. Whether or not this is available is dependent on the make of your DVD drive. It`s not a difficult thing to do but (generally) involves working in DOS.

My Girlfriend who works at blockbuster has just bought a Dansai 902C. It`s currently playing R2 DVD`s, DVD-R`s, VCD`s, Copied CD`s, Kodak Picture CD`s and MP£ CD`s. Any news on a region hack would be great.

Just ordered Natural Born Killers. Hopefully saving over a tenner which is how much more play247 want for it! Didn`t know about the 3 numbers at the end of the signature strip on the credit card thing but still got a confirmation e-mail from them. Should be here soon fingers crossed! :-)

It could well be a layer change. I didn`t think of that I was guessing at firmware problems but you may have a verg good point there.......but I still can`t get round it! I tried skipping past the chapter that was sticking and the disc is jumpy after that. Might just get it on R1

Got a multi region samsung 709 with macro-vision disabled and it won`t play plunkett and macleane right thorough. Around the 45 min. mark it just stops and won`t chapter skip fast forward or rewind. I have no idea what`s causing this and have never heard of it before the disk works fine on mates machines. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers.
