i have had the aiwa 170 since november 2000 with no luck finding the region hack (if it even exists).. this guy doesn`t know what he`s talking about- he thinks the 370 code is interchangable with the 170 for some reason.. whats up with the new chinese/us model of this machine that is claimed to be all-region on certain advertisements on the net? thats not right is it? If anyone does ever find this code please post it on this section of the site! thank you
AIWA xd-dv170 hack code pleeeeez!!!!!!
I`ve been looking for any possible hack code for the aiwa xd-dv170 for 5 months now and no word back yet. I just ordered the Dune television series (much better than the D. Lynch movie version btw) Box Set from amazon and to my SEVERE dismay it is encoded region 1. (beware of amazon.com as they do not always tell you the region coding...) please help!!

This machine is not all-region. I own the Japanese version however. I bought mine in November 2000 when it was relatively new in Japan. Cannot find a hack code or any way around this .. Maybe the one being sold in Hong Kong is a newer version but the one I have only plays R2.
