RE: Wharfedale 750 Information
At the end of last year Warner Bros. and Columbia Tristar started to apply a new more robust regional code on their new releases (Regional Code Enhanced - RCE) to prevent them being played on non Region 1 and modified players. Charlie`s Angels and 6th Day have the new RCE code. I don`t know if they apply the new code to all their new releases or just the blockbusters. Apparantly two of the first films to have RCE were Perfect Storm and The Patriot. However, this new coding has not `outwitted` all modifications and there are hacks that apparantly get round the new enhanced code.
If you want to check whether a region 1 DVD has the RCE code before you buy it, Express.com has details of the coding. RCE discs are identified as `Regional Code 1 Enhanced`. Express.com web address is www.express.com

RE: Wharfedale 750 Information
Hi
A friend of mine has a Wharfedale 750 and I lent him What Lies Beneath R1 but his 750 would not play it. To my knowledge this disc is not RCE so I wondered if his 750 is not set up to play all region discs. Basically, how do you set the 750 up to play all regions ? Is it a one-time set up after which the player will automatically play any disc or do you have to hack it each time want to play a disc other than an R2 ?
Any information/advise is much appreciated.
