RE: dvds for £8.75
Yes this site is selling DVD silvers (Pirates). The DVD silvers it sells though are Grade A. They come with proper cases, with proper covers and the DVD has a proper label on it. All special features are there on the DVD. The only difference is that the DVD is not region coded so it can play on any DVD player without it needing to be multiregion or chipped.

Don`t forget the stuff is cheap, but you have to add on the admission fee which is £4.
Scan SC-2000
I am highly considering purchasing this player. It has very good functionality being multiregion, plays VCD`s, MP3 etc... I am just getting a little worried about most of the problem posts about this player. Should I be getting worried? And when I get the player should I update it to the latest firmware right away and if so where can I download it from and how do I go about doing it. Do I simply just write the file to a CD?
Which Player Competes With The Scan SC-2000
Well the Scan player can play MP3 discs. It can be made macrovision free. I have read the review on this site and it says the sound and picture quality is very good. Also it can be made multi-region pernamently without it needing to be chipped so I don`t ahve to enter the remote control hack every time. This is all topped off with a very reasonable price. What other players do you know of that can compete with this one that are either equal or less in price?

RE: Which DVD Player?
Thanks for all your help Toy_car. I think I will porbably be going for the Scan player. Could you please give me a link to a page with the full specifications of the Scan DVD player and also where you can download the firmware from.
RE: Which DVD Player?
MP3 is probably the most important feature becaue I have a CD writer and can make some good compilation discs. VCD I`m not too bothered about because the qualty is poor. I would like to be able to transfer to VHS but I thought you couldn`t disable macrovision on the Scan player? What does upgrading the firmware do? How is it done? And is it necessary? Is there alwats a problem with colours of the Scan player because I just wanna sit down and watch a film, I don`t want to be messing aound with colours. Quite a lot of questions there I know, Thanks.
RE: Which DVD Player?
It`s been said before bear, Get back to the zoo! And as for all your advise on purchasing ones with a "brand" name do you really think all those brands produce their own DVD players? NO! Smaller compained produce them and the name Sony or whatever is badged on the front as in the case of the Scan SC-2000.
RE: Which DVD Player?
Well tell me what else a DVD player can be used for and I will tell you which of those features I would use.
Which DVD Player?
I am new to DVD players and am going to buy one shortly. I am the torn between the following 2 DVD players:-
Scan SC-2000 (http://www.scan.co.uk/dvd.htm)
Labway X-Wave - This player is chipped and macrovision free (http://www.business-ecommercesoftware.co.uk/business/svpcomm/Online_Catalogue_DVD_and_MP3_Players_8.html)
Please leave your opinions and comments. Thanks.
